Raster to Vector PDF Converter

Raster to Vector PDF Converter is an application designed for converting raster images to vector supported files, for example, pdf file. There are many applications that support to convert image to pdf. Raster to Vector PDF Converter uses advanced algorithm to compute out the control points and paths from raster images and reconstruct vector images.

This application is designed for running in MS-DOS command mode, and it is free for evaluation. You can download the package and unzip it into any folder in your disk.

You have to run the application in MS-DOS command mode, and have to open a MS-DOS command prompt window before using the application. Press “Window + R” combination key on your keyboard, input “cmd” in the popup “Run” dialog and then press [OK] to open a command prompt window in your Windows System. Set the current directory of the MS-DOS command prompt to the directory where the converter is stored, and you can call the application directly with its name of executable file “Raster2Vector.exe”.

This following command line shows a basic usage of the application,
>Raster2Vector test.bmp test.pdf .

This command line converts a raster bmp image “test.bmp” to a vector pdf file “test.pdf”. What is different from other conversion application is that Raster to Vector PDF converter can obtain the control points and stokes of patterns in the source raster bitmap image and then reconstruct a vector image that is exactly the same as the source one. The following two pictures will show the difference between the source raster bmp image and converted vector pdf.

raster bitmap image with serration magnification

The first image is a raster image showing that there is a serrate phenomenon when the image is magnified.

The second figure is a snapshot from the converted vector pdf file. The zoom box shows that the curve is still smooth and clear in a high level magnification.

This application can be used on a server or in redistributed commercial software. If you need to run it on your server, e.g., for batch process, please buy a server license. If you are a developer and want to distribute your software with this application embedded, please buy a developer license.

Features of Raster to Vector PDF Converter:
  • Support Microsoft Windows 2000 and later systems of both 32 and 64-bit.
  • Set printing options – It supports to set the width, height, paper size, resolution and page margin of a converted vector pdf file.
  • Rotate images – it offers an option to rotate the page of a converted vector pdf file.
  • Set line color and fill color – it can change the line color and fill color of a converted vector pdf file.
  • Suppress speckle – It can suppress speckles of the source raster image in the converted vector pdf file.
  • Inverse color – it can inverse the color of the source image in conversion from raster to vector.
  • Alternative algorithm – it provides an alternative algorithm for some specific situations in which the default algorithm does not work perfectly.
  • Multiple source formats – it supports raster image formats of pdf, jpg, gif, png, tif, tga, pcx, pnm (pbm, pgm, ppm), and bmp.
