GIF to EPS Vector Converter

GIF is an image format that uses pixels to save an image, which is called a raster image format. A raster image cannot afford multiple time magnification because the image quality will be lost. Vector image format uses control points and strokes to save the patterns of an image, which can maintain the image quality when the image is magnified. GIF to EPS Vector Converter is a good application that converts GIF raster to vector EPS images.

This application is free to download and evaluate. After downloading the package, please unzip the package to your disk. The application is runnable for MS-DOS interface, and you can directly run it with a MS-DOS prompt window without installation.

Press and hold “Window” and press “R” of your keyboard, input “cmd”, press [OK], and then you have opened a MS-DOS command prompt window. Please change the current directory to the one where the application is saved, for easy use.

A simple command to convert GIF to EPS, rater to vector is like the below,
>Raster2Vector.exe raster.gif vector.eps .

This command line converts “raster.gif” to “vector.eps” from raster to vector, and the following two figures will display the difference between the source raster image and converted vector image.

serrate raster GIF image

In the figure showing the effect of the raster image, you see that the curves are serrated when the image is magnified.

smooth vector EPS image (snapshot)

In the next figure that shows the effect of the converted vector EPS image, you can see that the curves maintain smooth no matter how many times the image is magnified.
